Buy And Sell Gold Book

Buy and Sell Gold by Daniel Stewart came across our desk for review.  We are always skeptical of these sorts of things.  We are as allergic to how to books as we are to Cash For Gold rip offs.  But, after talking to the author we realized he was very knowledgeable in this field and gave us the impression that he wasn't just another gold "expert" like we have seen pop out of the woodwork lately.

I sat down with my recently purchased Kindle eBook reader.  I was skeptical of these too, liking the weighty feeling of real paper in my hand.  But my wife said it is the wave of the future, and that the device is as good as reading an actual book, yet you have thousands of books at your fingertips.

I opened the book in my eReader, which was a breeze, and was quickly sucked in by Mr. Stewart's simple style, and real enthusiasm.  I can tell that the author really loves what he does, which is buying and selling gold.  He is a professional at this and makes a living doing it.

How To Intro

The book is broken up into two sections which are obvious: Buying gold and selling gold.  I wanted to skip to just the selling part as I do have some gold collected over the years but for the sake of the review, I kept to the Buying part.  I thought it would be something like "Have a cash for gold party", but it is much more than that.

The Buy Gold Section

Mr. Stewart breaks it down simple.  He tells you what tools you need and where to get them.  He even breaks it down to how much the tools will cost.  He explains what they do and how to use them.  He also covers all the basics that so many newbies want to know such as what a Karat is and the different purities of gold, the markings to look for in gold, how test gold to make sure it is real and not just plated, and much more I can't cover here.

Not only that, but he discusses where to go, which is important.  You got to know where to buy gold, and there is an urban sprawl of treasure hunting right in your own city, every city.  He also discusses how to bring the gold to you. Another thing I like is he tells you exactly how the "other guys" do it, what they pay, and how to separate yourself from their sleazy tactics so you can dominate the gold market in your town.

There's more there, and you'll be sure to like it.

The Sell Gold Section

But more importantly, let's talk about the selling part.  The most important part of this book is Daniel Stewart reveals the sources of where he sells his gold for 92% - 98% of ACTUAL MARKET VALUE of gold at the time.  There is a pay scale depending upon how much gold you turn in, but even as a long time prospector I didn't know about this source.  I was baffled, and told Mr. Stewart I would have paid more than the measly $7.99 he charges for the book.  He said he's hear of people paying hundreds of dollars for the same information, but wants to make this business accessible to all.

I like how he states the book in the premise.

It's not about selling to a gold buyer, but rather a gold supplier.

That's not the only thing he discusses however in selling.  He talks about different types of gold, intrinsic value, and how some scrap gold items are actually worth more than current gold markets.  He teaches you how to cash in on this as well.

My only complaint about the book is that it is just a primer.  It covers the basics really thoroughly, but does not go into fields like gold recovery from electronics, amalgamation or similar subjects.  I am hoping that Mr. Stewart will also release a book on buying and selling silver as they go hand and hand.  He does mention silver but only casually.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this gold buying book to the beginner or anyone looking for a reliable, BBB approved buying source that pays way more than the competition.  However, this book is probably not for the advanced gold hound, or one that already knows how and where to sell their gold.
